Kay Eileraas

Communications Director
As Director of Communications, Kay creates channels to distribute NEOHSTEM information and provides strategic ways to increase public awareness of the NEOHSTEM Alliance’s mission and goals. Her career has been focused on marketing and publishing within large corporate settings as well as startups across the United States.

She began her career in publishing and public relations working with first-time authors. It was in this arena, that she discovered her interest in marketing communications. After 4 years in publishing for Jostens, she moved on to the chemicals industry in Houston, Texas. She enjoyed working for Lyondell/Bassel within the specialties group and focusing on innovative business technologies. Enterprise-wide changes from a Legacy system to SAP provided the spark she needed to highlight her love of technology and training. Later positions at SwitchCore (Santa Clara, CA), CBR (San Bruno,CA) and Altiras (Houston,TX) would offer increasing opportunities to develop more complex technical solutions thus propelling business growth.

While at Altiras, Kay created their customized-CRM solution to vault the company from startup mode to fully engaging cross functionally saving sales, logistics and customer service valuable time. Seeking a greater opportunity, Eileraas customized and implemented the CRM solution at MedApproved, a SaaS solution for US Healthcare systems, increasing customer engagement by 60% and created a training platform for nurses increasing attendance capacity by 70%. Lastly, she took aim at the software-training curriculum to increase comprehension and decrease impact on customer service workload by 45%. Currently, she is employed with a national leader in Environmental Information Management consulting.

Eileraas is a graduate from the University of Louisiana with a degree in English/Communications. Graduate coursework was completed at San Jose State University in Linguistics. Hobbies includes nature photography and international travel. As a volunteer, Kay works on STEM initiatives, projects empowering women and Girl Scouts. She has held various board positions and enjoys volunteering for her church community as well.
